DOORS: 6:00 PM EVENT: 7:00 PM ARTIST LINE-UP Savannah Ré Instagram Spotify 2021 Juno award winner of Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year & 2x Juno Award Nominee; Toronto-based artist and songwriter Savannah Ré has become one of R&B’s brightest new voices by making music with an unyielding intention: to craft songs that forfeit polished stories for authentic ones. As a highly skilled songwriter, she’s developed an acumen for an arrestingly honest style of self reflection that’s the mark of music’s elite. Delivered with honey-hued vocals, and sung over patient, golden melodies with heady, circular beats, her music is mesmerizing in its celestial fluidity as it defers space for her voice to take centre stage. It’s this carefully refined formula for songwriting that has brought Savannah Ré under the mentorship of Grammy echelon where she’s written with artists like Babyface, Normani, and Wondagurl. In addition to opening for artists like TLC and Jessie Reyez on her Being Human On Tour 30-date North American tour, Savannah Ré has also attended esteemed writing camps including the Keep Cool/ RCA writing camp and Amazon’s all-woman creative camp for Wondagurl's debut album. The OPIA EXPERIENCE – a visual depiction of the EP’s title, defined by The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows as the “intensity of looking someone in the eye, which can feel simultaneously invasive and vulnerable”. Exploring the intimacy that comes from being vulnerable and inviting human connection, the emotionally stirring short documentary features footage of eight people (lovers and strangers) experiencing a powerful and unexplored form of affection. Interwoven throughout the video is a performance by Savannah Ré of the previously unreleased track “Opia”, the song she says made the EP feel complete. In addition to the EP’s critically acclaimed singles "Where You Are", "Homies", "Solid" and "Best Is Yet To Come" (named one of the 100 Best Songs of the Year by Apple Music last year), Opia features five new songs that speak to the hopes, insecurities and beauty we experience as we navigate the journey of knowing and loving ourselves and others. After establishing herself as a one-to-watch songwriter and performer, championed by R&B heavyweights from Babyface and Boi-1da to Jessie Reyez and Wondagurl, Savannah Ré’s remarkable debut project is a testament to her dedication to her craft. Acclaim for Opia has been abundant from industry tastemakers, fans and esteemed outlets including HYPEBAE, Complex, ELLE Canada, i-D, CBC Music, NUVO Magazine, NOW Toronto, Exclaim, and HOLR Magazine among several others who have profiled Savannah Ré this year. During a moment where all eyes are on R&B coming from Toronto, Savannah Ré is doing more than just joining a talented group of artists rewriting the rules of the genre — she’s leading the pack in her own right. Her goal is validation: to advocate for the value of untidy, collectively-held stories which ultimately become the ingredients of reclamation and resilience. 3409 Instagram Spotify 3409 is a 4-piece alternative pop band from Toronto with an experimental approach to pop music, given the diverse cultures of the group’s members. What started as a class project between 3 Humber music business students quickly evolved into an experiment in genre modification. Dani Doucette Instagram Spotify Dani has been gradually perfecting her craft until recently emerging in Toronto’s music scene with a relevant and fresh Pop/R&B sound. Having explored singing and songwriting since the age of six and taking influences from her musical family, she has developed her own very individual sound. From the start, Dani wrote and developed an ethereal and autobiographical catalogue of soulful and melodic music. Embedded with emotional themes and passionate vocals, Dani’s songs instantly translate to the listener, evoking reflection, emotion and even action. 2020 brought about her signing with MDC Music—a highly anticipated new partnership. With live performances nearly impossible, Dani used the last six months to carve out her own spot in the Toronto music scene, performing alongside prominent names at various drive-in concerts. She closed out her year with the release of two new songs: “is Christmas (You & Me)” single and video, and the dance track “On My Mind” produced by Saint Misha, with the song signed to Revealed Recordings/Gemstone Records out of the Netherlands. The new year starts off strong for Dani, as she drops her breakout single “Selfish”, produced by Anthony Wright and accompanying music. This is a sign of things to come in 2021, as she plans for an aggressive year of single and video releases. Always a creative, Dani is hands on in curating all aspects of her brand vision, including organizing and executing photo and video shoots. With the follow-up global release of “Craved” ready to go, Dani Doucette is a force to look out for in 2021.
